Mecklenburg County districts are each the size of a top-ten city in North Carolina, yet our government still operates like a small town. We don’t need more officials or offices, just better communication and coordination between departments and across city and district lines. Too often, the culture of public service prioritizes appearances, travel, and high-profile events over regular engagement with HOAs, local boards, and businesses. I will be present throughout District 3 every day, talking with residents directly and working closely with other elected leaders to meet local needs. This isn’t about a formal charter change, but rebuilding a political culture where public servants actually serve the public.
